DIFFERENTIAL SCANNING CALORIMETRY – DSC TESTING LABORATORY
Differential scanning calorimetry analysis, or DSC, is often used in the physical testing of polymers and plastics. This thermal analysis technique is typically used for process development, product research & development, and quality control applications. Through the DSC thermal testing, a product is submitted and analyzed under a range of varied temperatures and heat change rates. This type of testing can be used to understand the thermal properties of both organic & inorganic materials.
DSC Thermal Analysis is used primarily for:
Differential Scanning Calorimetry – How it works:
DSC testing analyzes what amount of heat is needed to raise the temperature within a sample. This allows for one to determine the chemical characteristics within the sample relative to its heat capacity. The results can be compared to a DSC curve, or verse a reference sample in order to further analyze and understand a particular sample.
Polymer DSC Analysis Identifies:
- Curing Reactions, Chemical Reactions, & Curie Point
- Crystallization Structure & Fusion
- OIT Oxidative Induction Times
- Thermal & Oxidative Stability
- Decomposition Temperature
- Component Identification
- Melting Point & Range
- Glass Transition
- Sample Purity
- Heat Capacity
- Physical Properties Lab
- Mechanical Properties Lab
- Medical Device Analysis
- Packaging Testing
- Polymer & Plastic Analysis
